Wrestling performs well, but falls to Plainville on Senior NightThursday, February 11, 2016 The Plainville wrestling team had its final dual meet of the season Wednesday, beating Newington 42-33 in a meet which saw only four matches contested. With both teams short on wrestlers, there were many forfeits, but the Indians had more, giving Plainville the win in a match which took about 15 minutes to complete. Domingo Malave, Brandon Delgado and Joey Briganti got wins for the Indians while Jake Somers won his last match for Plainville. “Somers is four-year wrestler but always had to be behind somebody,” Plainville coach Rusty Spence said. “The fact that the kid put up with it for four years and worked very hard was great. He won his first match this year and last week went six minutes with a kid, which he hadn’t done before. He lost, but it was a better match than the won and he pinned a kid in because he had to suck it up and go the full six minutes.” Courtesy of the NB Herald
