Wrestling finishes 2nd at Frank Chaves Invitational

Newington wrestling continued to impress Thursday with a second place team finish in the Frank Chaves Invitational at Simsbury High School.

The Indians were second with 145 points behind Simsbury’s winning total of 194. Chris Chorzepa was named most outstanding wrestler of the tournament and won for fast fall (3 pins in 2:13). Chorzepa won his weight class at 170 for Newington, while teammates Brian Amato (120) and Christian Zotti (138) were also victorious.

Indian wrestlers Taylor Scavetta (106), Brendan Zotti (126), Brian Goncalves (132), Quinton Birchall (220) and Andres DelValle (285) each finished third.
